Depression
Depression is one of the most common psychiatric illnesses. It can manifest itself differently in different individuals. However, the frequent features as listed in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders are:

- Obsessive Rumination
- Anxiety
- Phobias
- Excessive Worrying over Physical Health
- Complaints of Pain
Please bear in mind that not everyone will present with all the above symptoms. In addition, individuals suffering from depression often experience:
- Low Mood
- Emptiness
- Sadness
- Loss of Enjoyment
- Loss of Motivation
- Loss of Interest
- Loss of Pleasure
- Loss of Libido (sexual drive)
- Sleeping Problems
- Decrease in Mental Functions such as concentration and memory
- Decrease in Energy levels and fatigue
- Indecisiveness
- Hopelessness
- Feeling suicidal
